Why This Page Exists

Almost everything a homeowner needs to know before authorizing five figures of roof work is either unwritten or written by somebody selling something. What a replacement actually costs in this part of North Texas and what moves that number, how hail damage is distinguished from ordinary weathering, what a manufacturer's warranty does and does not cover, why attic ventilation determines how long a new roof lasts, and how to read an itemized scope against a one-page quote are all answerable questions that mostly go unanswered.

This is where we write those answers down as they come up, in the same terms we would use standing on your driveway. No listicles, no invented statistics, and nothing written to rank rather than to inform. If a question comes up often enough on assessments across Plano, Frisco and McKinney, it eventually ends up here.

The first articles are being written now. In the meantime, a two-minute phone call answers a specific question about a specific roof faster than anything published here will.

Reading Only Gets You So Far

An article can tell you what usually causes a stain over a kitchen window; it cannot tell you what is causing yours. If you have a specific question about a specific roof, a phone call answers it faster than anything published here will.
